Some 641 examples of the 1936 Speed Twenty were built before the production run halted in 1940. The Speed Twenty was a premium 20 tax horsepower Rover in the line that went back to the car announced in 1907, and the 1936 version was the last of the Speed Twenty family before the 1939 Rover 20 of the P2 range, which was the final prewar model of the name. The Speed Twenty was the sporting version of the premium Twenty.
