The wheelbase of the Rover 12 was stretched by 3 inches for 1935 from the 112 inches of the early cars, with the extra space giving the rear passengers more leg room. The Twelve of 1935 was in the second year of its run as part of the new range introduced by the Wilks brothers, and it was a larger car than the one launched at the end of August 1933. The change added space for the rear passengers. Rear passengers had more leg room as a result.
