The Rover 10/25 was built from mid 1927, after Rover increased the bore of its 9/20 hp engine by 3 millimeters at some point between March and September 1927 and renamed the model 10/25 to indicate the engine's capacity was ten percent bigger, with a claimed twenty five percent more output. It was a small family car. The 10 shared the chassis of the Rover 8 and used magneto ignition in its first year.
