From 1994 the 800 was faced with stiff competition in the shape of the Vauxhall Omega, as well as premium brand rivals including the BMW 5 series, though the Granada's successor, the Scorpio, had failed to sell well. The 2.0 liter turbo was fitted to the Vitesse and the later Vitesse Sport, sold from 1994 to 1996, taking the place of the former 820 Turbo. The Vitesse was the sporting model. The Vitesse Sport was a late addition.
