The Rover 400 Tourer, the estate version of the first generation 400 introduced in summer 1994, ended its production in 1998, after remaining in production alongside the second generation 400. The second generation was by then in its fourth year, a hatchback and saloon codenamed HH-R, based on the Honda Domani and built by the Rover Group, which BMW owned. The Rover 400 Tourer was a car of the older design.
