The Silver Dawn was a single generation, produced at the Crewe works between 1949 and 1955, the first Rolls-Royce car offered with a factory built body. W. A. Robotham saw in 1944 that there would be limited postwar demand for chassis fitted with bodies from specialist coachbuilders, and negotiated a contract with the Pressed Steel Company for a general purpose body for four people. A mere 760 were produced. Its model years run from 1949 to 1955.
