Production of the Silver Dawn finished in 1955, replaced in the range by the Silver Cloud, after a run of just 760 cars since 1949. The original invoice for a 1955 UK model, chassis number SVJ115, shows that the automatic gearbox was an optional extra costing the buyer 70 pounds. The Silver Dawn rode on a chassis seven inches shorter than the Silver Wraith. It was the final year of the Silver Dawn.
