The Phantom VIII was unveiled by livestream on 27 July 2017 and made its public debut two days later at a special exhibition in London dubbed The Great Eight Phantoms, held at the Bonhams auction house in Mayfair, which gathered a noteworthy Phantom from each generation. It is the eighth and current Phantom, the second launched by Rolls-Royce under BMW ownership, and its styling is an evolution of the Phantom VII's.
