The Phantom IV ended in 1956 after only eighteen were made, and sixteen are known to still exist in museums and in public and private collections. The engine was a refined version of the B80 of the rationalized B range of petrol engines, powerful but also able to run long distances at a very low speed, which was an important feature for ceremonial and parade cars. The next Phantom was the Phantom V of 1959.
