In 2012 the Ghost was in its third year, a full size luxury car designed by Andreas Thurner and Charles Coldham and engineered by Helmut Riedl, who led the development of the larger Phantom. It had a kerb weight of 2,470 kilograms and used BMW's iDrive interface, through which the Spirit of Ecstasy bonnet mascot and many functions were controlled, and was built at Goodwood. The Ghost was among the best selling Rolls-Royce models in its time.
