The 3.6-litre twin-turbo TDV8 diesel made its debut in both the Range Rover Sport and the big Range Rover in 2007, a further development of the 2.7-litre TDV6 with a 90-degree block, twin variable-geometry turbos and valve deactivation on the inlet side. Because of low demand, the naturally aspirated petrol V8 was left out of the UK market in 2007. The 2.7-litre TDV6, with compacted graphite iron block, produced 190 horsepower in Land Rover tune.
