2005 Range Rover Sport

The Range Rover Sport went on sale in 2005, a production development of the Range Stormer concept shown at the 2004 Detroit show, with five doors and a wheelbase barely shorter than the Range Rover Vogue's. Under the skin it was a modified Discovery 3, with the 4.4-litre Jaguar AJ-V8 of 300 horsepower or the supercharged 4.2-litre producing 385 horsepower. Greenpeace protesters disrupted its production at Solihull in 2005, a protest aimed at Ford's Premier Automotive Group.
