The fourth-generation Range Rover, L405, was first shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 and went on sale in late 2012 as a 2013 model. It was the first production four-wheel drive with an all-aluminium monocoque, which made it 420 kilograms lighter than its predecessor, and had a new Terrain Response 2 system, electronic air suspension and a choice of V6 and V8 diesel and petrol engines with an eight-speed ZF gearbox. A diesel hybrid followed in 2013, a long-wheelbase version in 2014 and a plug-in hybrid P400e later; a mild facelift came for the 2018 model year.
