In 1992 the V8 grew again to 4.2 litres, and a long-wheelbase Range Rover on 108 inches was added, sold as the LSE in Britain and as the County LWB in the United States, with air suspension, the 4.2-litre engine and extra rear legroom. Land Rover's own 200Tdi diesel replaced the VM Motori unit, and the 100-inch chassis was still the base of the Discovery. Land Rover North America, Inc. took over from Range Rover of North America on 1 August 1992.
