The entire Pontiac J body line adopted the 2000 Sunbird name for 1984, reviving the name of its predecessor, coinciding with a revised front fascia with a less angular appearance. A 1.8 liter inline four with multi port fuel injection produced a total output of 150 horsepower. The Pontiac 2000 Sunbird was a front drive compact manufactured by Pontiac. The 1984 2000 Sunbird took the Sunbird name back, with a new nose, in the third model year of the J car.
