The 1987 Grand Prix was basically a rerun of the 1986 model aside from the discontinuation of the 2+2 model, with the same three models continued, base, LE and Brougham. It was the last year for the G body Grand Prix, which would be replaced by the all new W body version in 1988, and the last Grand Prix to feature a V8 engine until late 2005 and separate body on frame construction. The Grand Prix was still available as the base car, the LE and the Brougham.
