The year 2008 was the Pontiac Grand Prix's last model year, and for 2008 Pontiac did not offer the GT trim but continued both a base and a GXP trim, the latter with Alcoa knockoff wheels with silver center caps. The Pontiac Grand Prix was replaced by the G8 for the 2008 and 2009 model years, whose production ended in June 2009, and the Pontiac brand was dissolved in 2010 as part of General Motors' Chapter 11 reorganization.
