The 2009 model year added the GXP version, powered by a 415 horsepower 6.2 liter V8 with a standard six speed automatic or an optional six speed manual, along with standard XM Satellite Radio and four new exterior colors. The oil pressure and battery voltage gauges at the top of the center console were eliminated after criticism of their outdated red LED appearance. By December 2008 there were 11,000 unsold G8s, and the 2009 model year marked the end of all Pontiacs.
