For the last year of production in 2005 Pontiac gave the mid level SLE the new GXP styling, and the 2005 SLE featured all GXP styling cues, except that the wheels, badging, muffler tips and engine remained unique to the GXP. The Bonneville ended in 2005 as the division's top of the line model, after a run from the 1957 introduction of the name, and was replaced in the range by the Pontiac G6. It ended as the division's top model.
