Nissan Navara

The Nissan Navara is a nameplate used for Nissan pickup trucks with the D21, D22, D40, D23 and D27 model codes. The D21 generation of 1985 was the successor to the Datsun 720, sold in Japan as the Nissan Datsun Truck, and the D22 compact pickup was manufactured from 1997 and kept in production as a cheaper alternative to the larger D40 mid-size pickup in many markets. Engines fitted to the D22 included the KA24DE petrol and, for export, the TD27 diesel, with a supercharged V6 added to the Desert Runner. Nissan discontinued the pickup in its home market of Japan because of taxation rules and falling popularity, and the D23 NP300 Navara replaced the D22 for international markets in 2015, with the Frontier name used in North America.
