Ford Fathom

The Ford Fathom is an upcoming battery electric compact pickup truck to be built by the Ford Motor Company, rumored to be called the Ranchero before its official announcement and expected to be about the same size as the Ford Maverick pickup truck. Its name and starting price of 28,350 US dollars were announced on 6 August 2026, with production and preorders beginning in the first quarter of 2027 and deliveries later that year, making it the least expensive electric vehicle Ford sells. It is the first vehicle on Ford's new Universal Electric Vehicle platform, which Ford chief executive Jim Farley called the company's Model T moment, and to support its production Ford intended to invest about 5 billion dollars in the Louisville Assembly Plant in Kentucky and BlueOval Battery Park in Michigan. It comes standard with a rear motor, rear-wheel drive and a lithium iron phosphate battery estimated at around 51 kilowatt-hours, with dual-motor all-wheel drive optional and a range of up to 300 miles, and its chassis is made of only three parts, a front casting, the battery pack and a rear casting.
