Peugeot Hoggar Concept

Automobiles

The Peugeot Hoggar Concept was a two-seater off-road concept car built by Peugeot. Its unusual layout used two diesel engines, one at the front and one at the rear, which together drove all four wheels. The body was a single carbon honeycomb structure strengthened by two stainless steel roll-over bars of 76 mm diameter along the top, and these tubes doubled as air ducts, the left one feeding the front engine and the right one feeding the rear engine. Each engine displaced 2168 cc and made about 180 bhp, so the pair delivered nearly 360 bhp and a maximum torque of 800 newton metres. The name Hoggar was later reused by Peugeot for a Brazilian coupe utility variant of the Peugeot 207, which is a separate vehicle.
