The Lancia Autoblinda Lince was an Italian four wheeled armoured scout car of the Second World War, a copy of the British Daimler Dingo built by Lancia and Ansaldo. From 1942 the Italian army set out a requirement for an additional scout car to go beside the Autoblindo AB41, after it had captured a number of Dingos in the African campaign and judged them advanced, in particular for their all wheel steering, agility and cross country ability. The first prototype was shown in November 1942 and used the eight cylinder engine of the Lancia Astura. Because of the armistice of Cassibile the Italian army could no longer adopt it. The German army rated the design highly and ordered 300, of which 129 were delivered by the end of the war, and it called the car the Panzerspähwagen Lince 202(i). Some went to the Italian Social Republic, and 263 vehicles were made in all.
