The EMW 325/3 was an open, cross-country light utility car, a Kübelwagen with switchable four-wheel drive, built by the Eisenacher Motorenwerke in Thuringia. German sources record that 161 cars were built in 1952, after which production stopped with no successor project. It was ordered to equip the armed organs of East Germany with a light training vehicle and is sometimes wrongly called the P1, a name that belongs to a separate Saxon prototype. Despite its name it is not a copy of the BMW 325 of the Wehrmacht: it has rigid axles with torsion bars, and engine, gearbox and rear axle came from the EMW 340 saloon.
