The Series M was introduced in 1938 as a completely new car with unitary construction, though its styling changed little, and with the new 1140 cubic centimeter X series engine giving 37 horsepower, a design with an eight port head, pressurised cooling and a fully filtered lubrication system that was praised for smoothness. Only saloons were made for civilians, and the car was replaced in October 1948. Its model years run from 1938 to 1948.
