The single generation of the Morris Six was announced on Tuesday 26 October 1948 as Morris's first postwar six cylinder car, with all the new cars of integral construction and independent front suspension using torsion bars. It was very similar to the Issigonis designed Oxford MO and Minor MM, sharing the Oxford's shell from the scuttle backwards with a longer bonnet to take the engine. The grille and identification marks apart, the car was shared with Wolseley's 6/80. Its model years run from 1948 to 1953.
