In May 1977 Marinas started to appear at dealers equipped with Allegro style seats, which, apart from rationalising the procuring and production processes, was said to make the Marina seating more comfortable and supportive. The Marina diesel was built between 1977 and 1980, with 3,870 built, and performance was often lethargic, with no more than 37 or 40 hp on offer depending on the source. The Marina was a rear drive car like its rival.
