On 29 March 1972, eleven months after launch, the 100,000th Marina, a 1.8TC version, emerged from the Cowley plant, and an estate came in 1972, eighteen months after the saloon and coupe. The Marina was introduced to the Australian market in April 1972 as the Morris Marina, and local assembly of Australian sourced models began in New Zealand in 1972. The Marina was marketed in Canada from 1972. The Marina was a rear wheel drive saloon, estate or coupe.
