The third generation Triton of 2002 was the seventh year of its generation and the first with the late 2001 facelift. Cumulative sales of the first three generations exceeded 2.8 million units around the world, with the pickup truck sold in most Mitsubishi markets except the United States, Canada and Japan after the end of Strada exports. In Japan it was previously sold at a specific retail chain called Car Plaza. The Triton is a mid-size pickup truck, also known as the Mitsubishi L200, produced by Mitsubishi Motors.
