The Dodge version had quad rectangular headlights beginning with the 1983 facelift, while Mitsubishis and earlier Dodges had single units in North America. A turbo diesel engine was available in US models between 1983 and 1985. The first generation pickup of 1983 was in its sixth model year. In Japan, where it has only been sold intermittently and in small numbers, it was originally known as the Mitsubishi Forte and from 1991 as the Strada.
