The engine range of the Tredia was overhauled in 1985 so that the cars could run on unleaded fuel, with a 1.8 liter engine that made 100 PS naturally aspirated and 135 PS turbocharged. In New Zealand Todd Motors added an automatic only 1.8SE with two tone paint, power windows and locks and a four speaker audio system in 1985. The Tredia used front-wheel drive and was similar in design to the contemporary Mirage, although larger.
