The Town Box of 2007 was in its ninth year as the first generation, a mid engined, rear wheel drive kei car whose engine was the 3G83 659 cc straight three. It had a short bonnet and an unusual layout for a passenger kei car, and the rear seat was a split folding bench, and power was 48 PS for the naturally aspirated model and 64 PS for the turbo, with the turbo at 6,000 rpm. The first generation Town Box was also sold in Japan as the Nissan Clipper Rio.
