In Indonesia the Pajero Sport was first launched on 18 June 2009. Initially it was available in two trim levels, GLX and Exceed, which was followed a year later by the entry level GLS. The second generation Pajero Sport of 2009 was built in Thailand, as with the Triton pickup truck on which it is based. In the Philippines the Pajero Sport is officially named Montero Sport. Production for all markets is concentrated in Thailand.
