In 2010 the Pajero Mini was in its thirteenth year as the second generation, a kei SUV with two or four wheel drive and a 660 cc four cylinder engine built by Mitsubishi on the Minica platform. The Nissan Kix, an OEM version of the car built by Mitsubishi, was sold in parallel by Nissan. The Pajero Mini was sold at a specific retail chain called Galant Shop. Compared to the full-sized original, the kei vehicle was considerably smaller and was fitted with 660 cc four-cylinder gasoline engines.
