The Pajero iO of 2005 was in its eighth year as a mini SUV from Mitsubishi, and the Brazilian version, called the Pajero TR4, was in production under license beside the Japanese car. The Pinin, built by Pininfarina near Turin, was the European version, and the car was exported as the Montero iO elsewhere. The Brazilian TR4 was the first four-wheel drive flexible-fuel vehicle of Mitsubishi. The car was exported as the Montero iO and to Europe as the Pajero Pinin.
