The three door variant of the Pajero was discontinued in February 2018, leaving the five door long wheelbase model in the fourth generation range. It was in its thirteenth year, powered by the 3.2 liter turbo diesel and 3.8 liter V6 depending on the market, with Super Select four wheel drive, in markets where demand for the full-size Pajero remained high. Over the 40 year run to 2021 more than 3.3 million Pajeros were sold.
