In January 1993 the five speed manual became standard fitment on all models of the Minicab except the base version with 10 inch wheels. Four speed manual transmissions had been typical on the truck at first, with the five speed reserved for the top TL model, and a three speed automatic was also optional on the Minicab TD truck. The car was in its third year as the fifth generation. Across the range, 66 model variations were possible.
