A partial improvement in January 1994 added the GT, the 1.8 liter turbo engine of the Lancer GSR with 205 PS and four wheel drive, and changed the pillar antenna to a power antenna on the rear quarter. The rear MMC sticker was changed to Mitsubishi, which made the Libero the last model with the MMC emblem. The Libero of 1994 was in its third year as a station wagon. The name Libero is Italian for free, chosen for a versatile car with a wide range of action.
