Export production of the Legnum ended in June 2005. The Legnum of 2005 was the last year of production of the station wagon of the eighth generation Galant, which Mitsubishi had developed in 1996 to fight the Legacy Touring Wagon, and which had been built since the end of 2002 for export only. The Galant on which it was based had been merged into the Lancer in December 2005. The Legnum was sold in Japan at both the Galant stores and the Car Plaza stores.
