The Lancer Evolution X was named Best Performance Car under 50,000 dollars by the Canadian TV show Motoring in 2009, and won the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada's 2009 Best New Technology award. The Evolution X of 2009 was in its second full year, available as the GSR with a five speed manual or the MR with the six speed TC-SST. The Lancer Evolution was a sports sedan and rally car based on the Lancer, made by Mitsubishi Motors from 1992 until 2016, with ten official versions.
