In August 2017 a Mitsubishi representative confirmed that the i-MiEV had been discontinued in the United States. The i-MiEV of 2017 was in its eighth year as a five door electric city car, still sold in Japan and in some European markets as the Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero. Rebadged variants of the i-MiEV are also sold by PSA as the Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero, mainly in Europe. MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle, and the car is the electric version of the Mitsubishi i.
