As of June 2016 about 37,600 i-MiEV family passenger cars had been sold worldwide since 2009, including the rebadged Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero. In June 2016 reports surfaced that the i-MiEV was no longer being sold in the UK, and no more new vehicles would be available. Rebadged variants of the i-MiEV are also sold by PSA as the Peugeot iOn and Citroen C-Zero, mainly in Europe. MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle, and the car is the electric version of the Mitsubishi i.
