As of 2013 and 2014 the i-MiEV was the only electric car sold in Russia, where 211 cars were sold in 2013, many of them bought by government organizations. The i-MiEV of 2013 was in its fourth year as the world's first modern highway capable mass production electric car, with a rebadged Peugeot iOn. MiEV is an acronym for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle, and the car is the electric version of the Mitsubishi i.
