A minor facelift occurred in 1984, in which the round shaped headlights were replaced with square units. The Delica of 1984 was in its sixth year of the second generation, with ten model variations encompassing passenger, cargo and recreational applications, and a four wheel drive option. The Delica was originally based on a cabover van and pickup truck introduced in 1967, also called the Delica. The Delica has been sold as the L300 later L400 in Europe, Jamaica and New Zealand, Express and Starwagon in Australia, and plain Mitsubishi Van and Wagon in the United States.
