The fastback Colt 800 series was built from 1965 until late 1971, and these models continued on in various similar forms until 1971. The Colt of 1971 was the last year of the original family of small cars, which ran from the Colt 600 of 1962. Colt was also used as a marque from 1974 to 1984 by the Colt Car Company to market Mitsubishi vehicles in the United Kingdom. Chrysler, Mitsubishi's longtime partner, also used the Colt name for the Dodge and Plymouth Colt captive imports for the North American market between 1970 and 1994.
