Mercedes-Benz Vaneo

Automobiles

The Vaneo was a five-door, seven-seat compact multi-purpose vehicle that Mercedes-Benz produced from 2001 to 2005 on the platform of the first-generation A-Class. The name comes from the German word Van, used for this type of car, and it was built as an MPV rather than as a van. It had front-wheel drive only and four-cylinder engines, two sliding rear doors and a sandwich floor that gave a van-like driving position and a higher roofline. Five seats were standard and two third-row seats were optional, with up to 3,000 litres of cargo space. Poor sales and quality issues ended it after three years, and the B-Class took its place.
