Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245

Automobiles

The W245 is the first generation of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, introduced in Europe, Australia and other markets in early 2005 and in Canada late in 2005. It is front-wheel drive with a sandwich floor, a parabolic rear suspension and a two-box design in which the drivetrain has one box and the shared passenger and luggage space the other, so that its height gives it interior volume. It came with passive safety systems including ESP, ABS, traction control, cornering lights and headlamp assist, and in a frontal impact the engine and transmission slide beneath the passenger compartment. It was not sold in the United States. In 2008 it gained a start-stop system, a BlueEFFICIENCY option and a petrol and natural gas NGT variant.
