Mazda Premacy (first generation)

Automobiles

The first generation of the Mazda Premacy, internally coded CP, was a compact minivan that Mazda unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show on 9 March 1999 and put on sale in April of that year. It was one of the cheapest seven-seaters on its market, with front-wheel or all-wheel drive, a four-speed automatic gearbox and second and third row seats that could be folded or taken out. Petrol engines of 1.8 and 2.0 litres and a 2.0 litre diesel were offered. It was built in Japan and exported to Europe and Asia, where Ford sold a rebadged version as the Ixion until 2003, with the Taiwanese Ixion MAV built until 2005, and China's FAW Haima made the same design as the Haima Freema. The second generation, which arrived in 2005, was sold outside Japan as the Mazda5.
