Chevrolet Astro

Automobiles

The Chevrolet Astro was a minivan built and sold by the Chevrolet division of General Motors from 1985 to 2005, offered alongside the GMC Safari in passenger van and cargo van versions. It was the first minivan from General Motors and, although marketed as a response to the first Chrysler minivans, GM chose a rear-wheel-drive layout, with all-wheel drive an option from 1990. Engines ranged from a 2.5 liter four-cylinder to a 4.3 liter V6. The Astro and Safari were built for their whole production run at Baltimore Assembly in Maryland, the final model line the plant produced, and about 3.2 million of the two were made.
