BMW 2 Series Active Tourer

The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is a two-row subcompact executive MPV that BMW has produced since August 2014. The closely related 2 Series Gran Tourer is a longer three-row version that began production in 2015 and was discontinued in 2021. Marketed as part of the 2 Series range, the F45 and F46 are based on the front-wheel-drive UKL2 platform, and the design follows the BMW Concept Active Tourer shown at the 2012 Paris Motor Show; it is mechanically related to the Mini Countryman, also built by BMW. It was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz B-Class, with sales starting in November 2014 and an optional xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Like the 1 Series hatchback, the Active Tourer and Gran Tourer were never available in the United States.
